Formerly Masonite Africa, Evowood runs one of the largest hardboard manufacturing operations in the southern hemisphere. Established in 1942, the company has over 70 years manufacturing experience. From their mill in Estcourt KZN they are ideally positioned close to South Africa’s largest ports (Durban and Richards Bay) and are located on the main transport route to Gauteng. They support sales globally and locally through sales representation and sales agents in local and international markets, and in South Africa they have a dedicated regional sales representation in Gauteng, Eastern & Western Cape and KZN.
KFC is an established brand in the quick service restaurant category with over 880 restaurants throughout South Africa. Predominately selling fried chicken, KFC also provide a selection of burgers, wraps, salads and side dishes. We, together with management, currently own 68 outlets across Gauteng, making Mabilo one of the leading KFC franchisees in South Africa, employing over 2,000 people.
Established in 1965, Gelvenor Textiles is a leading South African textile manufacturer and fabric engineering company. As pioneers who first introduced locally produced aeronautical fabric to South Africa 1967, they have continued to push the boundaries of textile engineering – driven by a passion for science, creativity and superior product performance.Today, Gelvenor Textiles produces a variety of aeronautical and industrial fabrics, protective workwear, technical apparel and high performance outdoor fabrics. All of these fabrics are manufactured in-house and independently tested at a SANAS accredited ATS laboratory to meet exacting standards. Gelvenor Textiles have established themselves as industry specialists, and are highly respected both in South Africa and by the International market.
MB Workwear is a market leading manufacturer of workwear and personal protective clothing. The company produces a wide range of garments such as boiler suits, dustcoats and thermal jackets to name a few, as well as high quality speciality garments to service the specific needs of the mining, construction, chemical , utilities and gas and oil industries. While standard fabrics like cotton or polycotton are used in a large portion of MB Workwear’s garments, the company has become renowned for its excellence in developing specialised fabrics and fabric treatment where they are needed. MB Workwear is an ISO9001 listed organisation, accredited with the South African Bureau of Standards as well as European and Canadian standards authorities.
As the fifth largest (and one of the longest running) staffing businesses in South Africa, Stratogo has been operating since 1969. With international branches in Kenya, Tanzania, Sudan and Ethiopia, the company has a vast reach throughout Africa and employs over 4000 people. Stratogo provides comprehensive temporary, contract and permanent staffing solutions to offer extensive value to the 400 plus clients they service. Striven is a specialist accounting, tax and business advisory practice located in Durban North, KwaZulu-Natal. This team of experienced accountants, tax specialists and business consultants provide a range of services to corporates and high net worth individuals to help them develop new strategies which drive financial growth. Formerly BMS (Business Management Services), the company was reenergised as Striven in 2016 to form a forward-thinking accounting practice that delivers innovative financial solutions to their customer base.
Summit Crane Hire
Summit Crane Hire is based in Cape Town where they have been operating since 2010. They currently have over 50 vehicles in their fleet, including forklifts, trucks and mobile cranes which are leased to clients in the oil and gas, wind energy, shipping and engineering sectors. They employ individuals at various skill levels such as project managers, health and safety officers, administrators, crane operators and rigging crews, and have a staff compliment of roughly 100 people. A rapidly growing company, Summit Crane have extended their reach beyond Cape Town and currently operate in the greater Western Cape, Eastern Cape and Northern Cape.
Best Bread Bakeries is a medium sized business that produces 70 000 loaves of bread and 10 000 units of confectionery per day, Best Bread Bakeries bakes fresh products seven days a week and delivers loaves of bread, in both white and brown variants, as well as an assortment of confectionery items, to a variety of customers. They supply retailers such as Boxer, Spar and Hypercheck, a variety of independent retailers in rural areas and a number of prisons, state hospitals, corporate canteens and spaza shops across KwaZulu-Natal.
Da Gama Textiles
Internationally acclaimed, one of South Africa’s oldest textile manufacturers, Da Gama Textiles, has nearly 70 years of experience in the weaving of cotton and the dying, printing and finishing of fabrics. Da Gama focuses their extensive experience and highly developed skillsets through three divisions, namely home sewing, furnishing and workwear. A level 5 BBBEE contributor, the company has implemented a broad-based company ownership scheme and 60% of the ownership of the company has been indirectly transferred to their employees.
